Turner Machine Company opened its doors a little over a decade ago offering basic machine shop services to local plants. From our humble beginnings as a one-man shop working out of a small warehouse in Nashville, we have grown to nearly 30 team members operating out of a 20,000 square-foot facility in Smyrna, TN. During these years, we have developed the reputation as being a leader in the manufacturing of custom-automated machines. But we have not forgotten our roots.
Turner Machine Company is a full-service machine shop offering both conventional and CNC machining and associated services. Whether your needs are for mill or lathe work, welding, fabrication, or maintenance repair … our team can help. |
JIT in your Toolroom
In today’s lean manufacturing arena, Just-in-Time delivery is the game. When merely days, if not hours, ahead of your customers’ demands, a well-developed preventative maintenance program mandates that the tool-room be adequately stocked with spare parts. Down time equals lost productivity, potential fines, and lost profits. In short, missed deliveries aren’t just costly; they’re unacceptable.
The good news is that Turner Machine Company can help reduce these costs, increase your profits and keep you on schedule. We will assist you in maintaining your tool-room stock with the necessary perishable and consumable tooling and parts so you stay up and running. Be it custom or OEM replacements parts, a single piece or 500; 304 stainless or 440, copper or Elkonite, 6013, 6061, Mic-6, A-2, D-2, H-13 or CRS, 12L14 or TGP, brass, bronze, tin, Delrin, UHMW, Nylatron, Teflon, or Garolite … and the list goes on and on … the bottom line is that we work with a myriad of different materials on a daily basis and do so with familiarity and proficiency. Regardless of your specific material needs, we can probably handle them.
Surface Treatment & Finish
To compliment our machine shop services, we maintain an in-house heat-treat oven, black oxide line, and a 1,100 square foot EPA-compliant paint booth. Offering these services enables us to provide quicker turnaround times and to reduce final costs to you. Additionally, we can outsource clear and colored anodizing, TiN, moly, hard-chrome, ceramic and other forms of surface preparation or metal treatment.

To Repair or Not to Repair?
Sometimes that’s not really the question. If your equipment is down and new parts are not an option, then repairing the damaged part is the only answer. If that 4” diameter, 6’ long, stainless roller is gouged, and you need it repaired – we’re here. Got a shaft or hub that has spun a bearing and no time to purchase a new one? We have the answer.

Got prints?
So you’ve been working on a project to increase production, reduce worker fatigue, or ensure quality consistency... You’ve got the drawings finished, detailed, and approved, and now it’s time to bring it to life. Often, no one knows your processes and subsequent needs better than you. If you want new end-of-arm tooling, weld fixtures, assembly or check stations, or even a complete production line and choose to do the design and detailing yourself, be assured that we welcome your “build-to-print” package. We can also provide assembly, panel building, PLC programming, etc. if needed.
No Prints? No Problem!
Got a part, but no prints? A machine you need to duplicate? Not a problem. Our experienced team of mechanical engineers can reverse engineer just about anything. We can generate detailed drawings from your sample part or even detail a complete existing machine – often at a fraction of the original cost.
Putting it all together…
At Turner Machine Company, we’ve not lost sight of the basics. We know that you don’t just need new equipment, but that you also need to keep your plant running and that traditional machine shop services play a vital role. And we understand perfectly that your success ultimately determines our own. Whatever your need may be, we’re here to help. We’re just a phone call or mouse click away ... |
